Hi, friends! I'm Danielle, and this is my first blog post... ("Hi, Danielle," you reply, hopefully enthusiastically.) My first novel, Men in Tights, was recently selected for publication by Swoon Reads, an imprint of Macmillan, and I thought this blog would be a fun way to chronicle my publishing journey. And maybe one day when I'm old and sitting in a rocking chair with my studly husband and our very fluffy dog (yes, I've thought this through quite a bit), I can look back and remember the year my book crawled out of my laptop and made a new home in a bookstore smelling of rich mahogany, where show tunes and soft jazz are piped through the surround sound speakers and the smell of overpriced coffee fills the air. Ahh...I can almost hear the Hamilton soundtrack and smell the lattes as I type.
But I digress...
I'm so, so, so excited to work with the lovely and amazingly supportive folks over at Swoon Reads. Seriously. There aren't enough "so's" in the world to express how much this opportunity means to me.
Though before I tire you all with my immense gratitude, I wanted to share the "Meet the Author" Q&A that I did with Swoon Reads over on their website. Basically, I try to be witty. Hopefully, I succeed. If you enjoy superheroes, romance, and humor, then I'm sure you'll enjoy it. And if you don't enjoy superheroes, romance, and humor, then I still hope you'll enjoy it. Everyone needs to try something new every now and again. For example, I once tried to eat a full serving of sauerkraut on New Year's Day. I almost puked...but I consider myself slightly more adventurous because of it.
(Side Note: My book is nothing like sauerkraut. Unless you love sauerkraut. In that case, it's exactly like sauerkraut.)
